Not Getting older, I only look slower because I am thinking more??

My gal has been asking me to slow down and rest a little more since I retired. Not happening, because I don’t want too. I like working and staying busy. I still get up early and go hard most of the day. However, I did read something today that made me think.

It was the annual Berkshire Hathaway newsletter. It is written by Warren Buffet the famous manager of Berkshire Hathaway, and his wildly successful company for over 60+ years. His newsletters are a delight for me to read and he always has little quotes and quips that make me grin.

This year is no exception. He has some quotes from the bible and quotes from an obscure book from 1924, plus other things, etc. Most of the information is written in human readable format so you don’t need to be a super educated investor to understand his comments. He is so smart he can say things about complicated concepts in a way I can understand.

One of his conments was about a friend of his from 30 years ago.

Three decades ago, my Midwestern friend, Joe Rosenfield, then in his 80s, received an irritating letter from his local newspaper. In blunt words, the paper asked for biographical data it planned to use in Joe’s obituary.

Joe didn’t respond. So? A month later, he got a second letter from the paper, this one labeled “URGENT.”

It stuck me that maybe my gal was telling me that I am getting old enough that writing my obituary has become urgent. grin.

The link to the newsletter is below. Not for everyone, but I enjoyed it.
